we want to be your photographers and bring your brand story to life.
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words. We know that brand photos are the first thing that potential customers notice and standing out from the crowd takes more than just being “insta-perfect.”
In today’s digital wild west, savvy consumers have learned how to spot the brands that are authentic and trustworthy from those that are just posing. Real trust is earned by showing the people behind the brand, highlighting the creative process that happens behind the scenes, and showing up in a way that sparks a genuine connection.
That’s where we come in. We take the time to get to know your story, learn your vision, and work with you to craft a personalized plan that brings it all to life through scroll-stopping imagery that tells your story – not just showcases your product.
No matter your brand’s style, energy, or voice – our mission is to help you reach your goals and elevate your brand with story-driven imagery that connects, captivates, and is authentically you.
Welcome to our online home! I’m Jason – the photographer behind Elemental Brand Photography.
While I love creating visuals that are striking and eye-catching, the work I’m most proud of goes deeper than that. It’s about helping you expand your brand, tell your story, and step into new opportunities with imagery that truly connects.
At the end of the day, this is a collaboration. When we work together, we’re building something bigger – supporting each other as we grow and reach new heights in our entrepreneurial journeys.
Finding the right fit matters. Scroll through the next few slides to learn more about my background, what drives me, and the values I bring into every partnership. I’m looking forward to connecting with you.
I grew up in Tacoma, Washington, spending my time camping, playing baseball and golf, and always learning.
My background is in Computer Software and Systems Design, earning both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Washington before starting my career at Boeing as a software engineer. Over nearly two decades, I worked on complex, large-scale systems that were both challenging and rewarding, giving me constant opportunities to grow.
After years in engineering, I was ready for a new chapter – one centered on creativity, connection, and storytelling.
Photography had always been a passion, but it became something more. Today, I help business owners create intentional visuals that strengthen their brands and tell their stories.
The summer between finishing my bachelor’s and starting grad school, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. A small back pain and an unusual lump quickly led to surgery and radiation, all while starting grad school and feeling sick nearly every day.
Going through it showed me something important: there’s very little conversation about testicular cancer, even though 1 in 270 men will be diagnosed each year. Opening up helped me realize how many people were affected, personally or through someone they loved.
Since then, I’ve made it a point to speak openly, raising awareness and encouraging others to understand their bodies. Facing cancer at 19 was terrifying, but it taught me resilience, the value of honesty, and the importance of taking action.
Reliable – When I make a commitment, it’s as good as set in stone. I respect everyone’s time and always do everything I can to deliver.
Honest – I value doing the right thing. You’ll never be asked to pay for something you don’t need, and I’ll always be upfront and transparent.
Always Deliver Quality – I want my clients to love what they receive and be proud of their brand. Every project gets my maximum effort.
Respectful – Everyone deserves respect. I honor your individuality, your thoughts, and your values.
If these resonate with you, I have a feeling we’d work really well together!
Favorite Food: Tacos! Especially with fresh-made guacamole and salsa. That perfect mix of comfort and spice makes them impossible to beat.
Favorite Book: It’s been a while since I’ve read for fun, but In the Company of Heroes still takes the top spot. (Technical books like Theory of Computation don’t count!)
Favorite Band: Too many to pick just one! Some I can listen to for hours: Pink Floyd, Corey Taylor, Chris Stapleton, My Chemical Romance, Tool, Zach Bryan… it depends on the mood.
Favorite Place: So many amazing spots, but if I had to choose: Astoria, Oregon, between November and January—absolutely breathtaking waves in the right conditions.
If you work with us, I’ll primarily be your photographer – bringing years of experience in landscape and nature photography to every shot. One of my cameras is always in hand, and I handle the photo editing too, whether you want natural adjustments or more advanced post-processing.
I’m also responsible for setting up the lighting and all technical aspects of your shoot, making sure everything is dialed in for the perfect shot.
Debbie and I work closely in consultations and check-ins to understand every detail you want captured and to plan your photoshoot day. Together, we make sure your vision is executed exactly how you want it.
I love it when a good plan comes together — but honestly, I enjoy the brainstorming and collaboration just as much as watching it all unfold. Listening to a client share their passion and vision for their brand – I am all about the unique little details – is what inspires me the most.
From our very first phone call to the final delivery, I’m here to make the process smooth, supportive, and stress-free. When things are thoughtfully organized, it creates space for creativity and confidence — and that’s where the magic happens.
I was born and raised in Washington State, not far from Mount Rainier National Park. As a kid, you could usually find me outside — riding my bike, building forts in the woods, playing with friends — or sprawled out, completely engrossed in my latest library find. Anne of Green Gables and the Laura Ingalls Wilder stories were some of my favorites.
As an adult, I attended the University of Washington, earning my special education teaching certification and Master’s in Education. I loved working in elementary schools, serving the most vulnerable students, and celebrating with them and their families as their skills grew. Those experiences taught me lessons in empathy, patience, and care that I carry with me every day.
After 2020 and the COVID-19 pandemic, Jason and I started traveling extensively across the U.S. While we’ve experienced the beauty of the natural world, it’s the people we’ve met and their stories that have stayed with us. Meeting so many inspiring individuals along the way sparked the idea for Elemental Brand Photography: creating imagery that captures real stories and makes meaningful connections.
Life has taught me plenty of lessons, but there are two that have really shaped who I am today.
In my early 20s, I landed a job at Costco in the business delivery sector. It was a night shift and I was part of the crew that fulfilled business orders for delivery the next day. This fast-paced, quota-driven environment taught me to think logically, manage my time efficiently, and work as part of a team.
Around this same time, I was also working on my associate’s degree at a local community college. A little back story – I was homeschooled from elementary through high school, so stepping into a college classroom felt like being sprayed with a firehose! Those first couple of years were tough as I learned to navigate professors, assignment deadlines, and campus life. But through it all, I discovered what it really means to persevere, to have a little grit, and to feel the pride and excitement when hard work finally pays off.
Both experiences shaped how I approach everything I do today: with persistence, teamwork, and a deep appreciation for the process of growth.
The first time someone described me as reliable, I was about fourteen. Ever since, it’s been a core part of who I am. I take nothing more seriously than following through on what I’ve promised – it’s how trust is built, and it’s something I deeply value.
Kindness is another value I hold close. Simple acts, a smile; a small gesture; a kind word, can make all the difference in a world that sometimes forgets to slow down.
And finally, I believe in finding beauty in the little things. Watching shorebirds dance just out of reach of a wave, listening to eagles call to each other, or noticing how the afternoon light plays across the leaves of a forest fern — these quiet moments move me just as much as any grand mountain view. They remind me to stay curious, grounded, and connected — qualities I carry into every part of my life and work.
Fun fact: I didn’t get my driver’s license until I was 18 — I used to walk everywhere or catch rides with friends.
We do what we say we’ll do — simple as that.
We turn your vision into imagery that tells a story, not just a pretty picture.
Your thoughts and ideas matter – we work with you every step of the way to bring your ideas to life.

We adapt to your needs and navigate every shoot with creativity and ease.
We love to travel the country in our Airstream. We especially love meeting new people and getting to know all about them. On our travels, we’ve met artists, entrepreneurs, and small business owners with incredible stories and ideas. But time and again, we noticed a common thread: brilliant work, but a limited digital presence to share it.
That realization sparked our mission — to capture these stories in imagery that connects, inspires, and helps brands reach their full potential. There’s nothing like partnering with a brand, creating images that are authentically them, and watching their eyes light up as they discover all the ways these images can elevate their business.

If we have a spare moment in the winter – you can catch us on the ocean chasing those big PNW waves!
